First period stories
I was in the end of year 7, I had road patrol after school, and it was quite late in the afternoon. We had PE last class of the day, and I felt something was off, so I went to the toilet. I remember when I wiped and there was blood. I didn't have a phone or anything with me, so I went back to my bag and got a pad and was okay after that. I was quite scared to tell my Mum, but I emailed her “Hi, I think I got my period” and since then I've been having them every month.
I was lying in bed, and I needed to go to the toilet, so I went to go pee and then I looked at my undies and it was brown I thoughted I pooped my pants. I then screamed for my mum, and she came and explained that I just got my period. I was scared at first but with Mums' advice, I felt relieved and knew what to do going forward.
I was on an aeroplane with my dad and my younger sister going up to Wellington. I went to the toilet, and I thought I pooped my pants I stuffed toilet paper in my pants and walked off. When we got to the hotel I changed and was fine. Later I went to the toilet, and I saw I had ‘pooped’ my pants again so ran out and got my dad's phone and called my mum in the bathroom. I didn't know but my dad heard everything on the phone, so my dad ran out and brought all the pads and tampons in the dairy, got chocolate and watched a movie with me on the hotel bed and my mum flew up the next day.
I had just got home from shopping with my mum, and while we were shopping, I started to get a really sore tummy, and it was still sore when I got home so I went to sit on the toilet, and I looked at my undies and I thought I had pooped myself and I screamed for my mum and she explained what has happed.
Not really a first period story but still kind of related - when I was 15, I was getting really heavy periods that made me feel faint and sick, so I decided to get a form of birth control. I didn’t want to take the pill because I was worried about the side effects of it, as well as forgetting to take it and the repercussions. I ended up deciding to get an IUD (the little T shaped thing that goes in your womb). I was super scared because my mum wasn’t there to come with me, so I was by myself. In the end, the procedure took about 15 minutes and they had to inject a muscle relaxant into my leg. The pain ended up being about a 7/10, and I had to keep thinking to myself “this 15 minute pain will make up for 5 years of period cramps, just keep going.” Overall, I think this was genuinely worth it. I bled a little for 2-3 months and then on and off for another 2 months but since then I haven’t had a period at all.
